Point of sale

We are really pleased with the impact of the display units. This watch has been through a painstaking research and development programme and has to cope with the most demanding sporting environments so our designs had to promote the idea of accessibility but taking great care to maintain the seriousness and experience behind the brand… a great project to work on.

Corgi

Packaging

We have worked with Corgi for over eight years now on a variety of projects including Corgi's 50th Anniversary catalogues and packaging, but being asked to create designs for the Battle of Britain range was a great opportunity. All Corgi models are carefully researched and crafted with meticulous attention to detail. Our challenge as designers was to evoke the spirit and atmosphere of one of the most important battles of our modern history whilst ensuring the historical context we were creating was entirely accurate.

Exhibition Literature and Graphics

This has been fascinating project to work on. Our brief was to profile the artists and their work but with particular emphasis on their source of inspiration – the special character of the landscape and the ancient trees of Calke.

Course Programme

The use of hands-on, manual processes and the large range of creative techniques is what makes printmaking intrinsically appealing to a wide audiences. By presenting this theme through photography and case studies along with clearly structured and creatively signposted information we are really pleased with the new look and we have had very good feedback from both tutors and students.

Branding

The sponsorship was part of our marketing programme in the arts and heritage sector but rather than establish a new partnership we decided to concentrate on developing the relationships we already have. Leicester Print Workshop was a natural choice since they were one of our very first clients. As a designer I have always had and instinctive passion for the printmaking process. The support doesn't just have commercial value but respresents our commitment to and passion for the work we do for our clients

Distinctive branding gives touring exhibition new momentum.

Leicester Print Workshop (LPW) have asked FSG Design to create a new brand for their national touring exhibition smallprint:big impression. Previously promoted under the general banner of LPW, giving it its own brand has helped raise its status and establish it as a progressive contemporary art exhibition.

The new branding will initially focus on an individual logo quite distinct from the Leicester Print Workshop brand, then be developed through advertising and promotional literature and culminate in an exhibition catalogue that will take the form of an art book rather than being a simple reference piece. The logo itself has been created using abstracts of silk screen frames and the detail of screen mesh.

The small print exhibition comprises of ‘mini prints’ no larger than 100 sq cm and entries will be selected to promote the vibrancy, excellence and variety of fine art printmaking. The exhibition will also build on the educational work of LPW developing an understanding of the diversity in fine art printmaking.

Point of sale units boost accessibility of cutting edge rally driving technology.

Designers and makers of the world's leading brand of rally driver precision watches Fastime Copilote have asked FSG Design to create a point of sale display unit to promote their latest co-drivers watch through specialist retail outlets and at World Rally stages.

Rally driving is all about timing and so measuring, storing and recalling precise time information is essential for co-drivers at any level of rallying. The RW2 co-drivers watch was launched by Fastime Copilote in August 2006 after extensive trials and development with input from the world's leading rally drivers. It represents state of the art in rally watches and is worn by rally champions worldwide.

As a piece of rallying equipment the RW2 can be used at any level. The aim of the point of sale material was to promote the watch to a wider audience, reaching co-drivers at point of purchase in retail outlets and also at the rally stages.

Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britian.

As celebrations get underway for the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, local design agency FSG Design are looking forward to seeing their work on display and attracting aviation and Battle of Britain enthusiasts from across the world.

The Battle of Britain began in July 1940 with the German challenging Britain for control of the channel. The battle involved attacks on ports and the bombing of airfields and cities. But with the RAF defending our skies, by the end of October the bombing raids had ceased and the battle won. To commemorate the anniversary Corgi Toys created a special range of die-cast aircraft models and asked FSG Design to create packaging and adverts to promote the range to collectors. The range includes our all important Spitfires, Hurricanes and the Boulton Paul Defiant, the Luftwaffe's main fighter aircraft Messerschmitt and the Dornier Do215, 4/Aufkl.Gr, G2+JH which was shot down off Norfolk coast by Sgt Arthur D. Smith on 30th August 1940.

The Battle of Britain range is available at the end of July to coincide with the main 70th anniversary celebrations.

Identity and publicity materials help contemporary art group make their mark.

The creation of the brand identity and show materials for the Timescape:Traces exhibition marks the end of a successful and adventurous two year contemporary art project for Leicester based art group g8artists.

The Timescape project was launched in June 2009 in response to the enthusiastic public response to their exhibition at Calke Abbey in Derbyshire in 2008. The Timescape project received support from the National Trust, National Forest and Arts Council National Lottery Fund and has involved the work of the seven individual artists in a series of exhibitions, workshops and outdoor installations.

FSG Design have worked with g8artists throughout the project with the creation of the initial Timescape project identity, which has been developed to create a brand for the final Timescape:Traces exhibition along with supporting literature and exhibition materials.

Using creative design to bring the art of print to new audiences.

Our ongoing work for Leicester Print Workshop (LPW) has continued with the design of the new course programme for August to December 2010.

As a regional centre of excellence Leicester Print Workshop works hard to introduce fine art printmaking to new audiences. This is reflected in the content of its course programmes this year and has prompted the need for a new more accessible design of the programme literature.

FSG Design were asked to design the new programme format for introduction in January this year and following the success of the new format were asked to produce this second issue.

FSG Design breathes new life into Ab Agri's Sportsman Game Feeds brand.

A new look of confidence and quality created by Leicestershire based agency FSG Design has helped re-established AB Agri's Sportman Game Feeds as a leading brand in the game feed market.

The game feed industry is a highly competitive environment with a strong emphasis on firmly established personal business relationships. Sportsman Game Feeds felt they had lost some ground and needed to re-position themselves in the market to reflect their proven record and reliability in supplying quality products. Working alongside marketing agency Jax Marketing, FSG Design were given the brief to re-visit Sportman's corporate identity through the design of their stationery, corporate brochures, advertising, direct mail campaigns, welcome pack and exhibition materials.

The new branding was launched to the field at a recent sales conference and new material, including vehicle livery is being rolled out nationwide.

The Passion2Print Rugby exhibition, sponsored by FSG Design was co-commissioned by Leicester Print Workshop and Rugby Art Gallery & Museum. The works have been created by four artists who took their inspiration from the Social History Collection at the Museum.

Lucy Phillips, Director of Leicester Print Workshop said "we have an excellent working relationship with FSG design and one of the reasons for this is that we each appreciate that our specialisms, design and fine art printmaking, share the same origins. Bringing together contemporary graphic design and contemporary printmaking has been as exciting as bringing together social history and printmaking in the Rugby project"
