G8 Artists

Exhibition Invitation for 'Trace Elements'

Working with G8 again has been great. Their enthusiasm and willingness to look at creative production solutions is very refreshing. To produce the invites we worked closely with print finishing specialists A14 to achieve a result that made the most of their traditional skills and craftmanship whilst creating a piece of work that will sit comfortably in a contemporary art environment.

The new course programmes continue to be well received by new and existing LPW members. We get a huge amount of satisfaction from our work with LPW, and it's great to see the workshop expanding it's member base, running more and more external exhibitions and taking the traditional print process to a wider audience.

Sale information and Sampling Sets

Working with Benders Paper Cup Company is not just about the development of new products and designs but about making sure the sales teams and customers have everything they need to understand and use the new products. It is always good to see the reward in sales figures, but also to hear positive comments from the sales team too.

Wirsol Solar Group

Corporate Literature

This is the first time we have worked for Wirsol and we have come in at a very interesting time for solar power in the alternative energy industry. The corporate style guide lines are very strict but the result is appealing, clear and concise with the style fulfilling the fundamental criteria of a technological and ecological approach.

Walkers Handmade Chocolates

New Product Launch

We really do love Walker's chocolates. We have seen them being made, we have tasted lots of them and it is great to be able to use our creative skills to communicate to other chocolate lovers the passion, skill and delicious ingredients that go into the making of them. However we also need to respond to the needs of the gift market creating seasonal and occasional opportunities for people to try a more premium product which lead to the creation of The Love Collection."

Northamptonshire Borough Council

Marketing Campaign

The most difficult part of this brief was the range of different target audiences, so we decided on a simple graphic approach that was accessible to all levels of technical and educational abilities. This bold approach is softened by our friendly icon emphasising the helpful aspects of the services and counteracts any authoritative undertones such a campaign might convey.

Harvey Maria

Brochure and Website

Harvey Maria are a longstanding client and we have seen their range grow and develop in response to the latest interior design trends. The designs harmonize with schemes or create a dramatic design statement in themselves but there is still a need to inspire and encourage people to see the possibilities of using such distinctive designs. We feel the new approach and new imagery will really give potential buyers the confidence to use a Harvey Maria design and will successfully translate into their on-line marketing.

Touring Exhibition

We always enjoy our work with Leicester Print Workshop and the promotion of printmaking but this has been a particularly rewarding project for us and it really is great to see it in print. It was well received at the opening and is already selling well and it will really help LPW achieve their aim of establishing the show as a progressive contemporary art event.

Letterpress poster promotes charity bazaar.

We were very pleased to donate our time to help Leicester Print Workshop launch and promote their fundraising bazaar, to be held on 9th November 2011 to raise funds for the workshop and studio.

With the help of their resident letterpress expert we typeset a traditional style letterpress poster and printed them in a variety of colours. Working with such a hands on technique was great, and reminded us of the importance of the skills and attention to detail of this most beautiful process.

If you want to attend the event and help the charity achieve it's goal please visit Leicester Print Workshop on Wednesday 9th November, 6:00pm – 9:00pm, 50 St Stephens Rd, Leicester LE2 1GG. Original prints will be on sale for an amazing £25.00 plus other cards, gifts and refreshments. Please visit www.leicesterprintworkshop.com for further details.

Creative hub hosts new G8 exhibition.

G8 artists have launched their new exhibition, Trace Elements, at the Atkins Gallery, part of Hinckley's creative hub.

After working with G8 on their traditional hand crafted invites, FSG were asked to design and install a set of graphics for the main introduction wall of the gallery space. A mix of both matt and gloss vinyls were used to fall in line with the finish of the invites, along with acrylic cut logos and sponsor panels to add depth and interest. In addition, a set of posters were also produced to support the show in other parts of the building.

The show runs from 29th August to 30th September 2011 at the Atkins Gallery, Lower Bond Street, Hinckley.

Traditional techniques add life and character to a contemporary art show.

We were thrilled when G8 artists asked us to work on their forthcoming show 'Trace Elements'.

The contemporary art exhibition is to be housed in a beautifully converted industrial mill, so the idea of using traditional hand crafted print techniques on a recycled board complemented both the shows content and the venue perfectly.

The 1250 micron pulp board invites use a combination of gloss white and matt black foils to add character and interest for a show that pulls inspiration from the natural environment. The hand finished cards have a simple and direct layout, making the most of the inherent qualities of the unique print process. The concept and style will be carried through into exhibition graphics and further printed materials.

A splash of colour launches new LPW printmaking courses.

Hot off the press is the new programme for the regional printmaking centre of excellence, Leicester Print Workshop.

Building on the success of our previous issues, the August – December 2011 programme uses a day glow red ink to highlight course information and add a splash of colour to the end of the year courses.

Additional services help keep collectors models on track.

Having worked with the Corgi brand for many years, we were very pleased to have recently completed the new collectors 2011-2012 catalogue.

In addition to the design and artwork of the 84 page catalogue, this year we were able to increase our efficiency and level of service by utilising our new photographic studio to shoot some of the models in house. This extra service allowed us to have more control over the look and feel of the images, and helped to stay within the tight schedule.

We are delighted to have just put our new studio to use and completed a comprehensive photo shoot for a new, exciting range of packaging.

Kilo Simply Kitchen required an updated fresh approach to add value and inspiration to the growing product range. The food was prepared, styled and shot inhouse and the images will be used on new retail pack designs and forthcoming brochures.

fsg design new sales aids for Bender's sales team.

Following the successful introduction of the Bender's by Design range developed and designed by FSG, Benders Paper Cup Company have asked FSG to help in its plans to strengthen its recently refreshed brand and support its field sales activities by providing improved sales information and sampling sets.

Benders Paper Cup Company are Europe's only dedicated paper cup manufacturer leading the field in product development and design. In response to the intensely competitive coffee house market they have developed a range of options for creating bespoke and customised paper cup designs to allow their customers to strengthen their own brands and customer experiences. Bespoke services are highly desirable but can bring inherent complications to the purchase process.

FSG are currently designing information and sales sheets to support the sales team and aid sales and purchasing processes, these will also be translated into online support. We are also designing new packaging and sample sets to communicate more clearly the range of options available.

Bringing the benefits of solar technology to Britain.

FSG has been working with part of the German based Wirsol Solar Group to help promote the use of solar technology to Britain. Wirsol Solar UK Ltd asked FSG to create their new corporate literature in line with the strict guidelines of the German company's house style.

The Wirsol Solar Group is an internationally active project developer for solar photovoltaic (PV) power systems. Based in Germany it also works through companies across Europe and the USA. The new corporate brochure has been designed to promote an understanding of the use of solar technology and the Wirsol services to its commercial, residential, wholesale and investor markets. The brochure was complemented by individual inserts and a direct mail awareness building campaign.

Operating throughout Europe and United States, companies adhere to a strict set of style guidelines for all marketing materials produced for local markets.

The fsg team really do love chocolates.

Walker's Handmade Chocolates asked FSG to design a new gift set in time for the Valentine's buying season. Being a small online chocolatier and retailer the gift set had to work not just as a romantic valentine's gift but also as a generic gift that could be marketed all year round.

Using the Walkers standard packaging, a new wrap was designed which incorporated a menu on the reverse to eliminate the need for a separate menu inside. The range was launched online and through the Skipton chocolate shop and bakery and has now become one of the regular ranges.

The new gift set was launched through an email offer to subscribers of www.walkershandmadechocolates.co.uk along with new point of sale and window posters for the retail shops. This project is part of ongoing work with Walkers to design new packaging to widen their on-line and mail order offering and to carry the new brand identity through to the bakery and celebration cake business.

fsg make it 'easy' for Northamptonshire Borough Council.

Working in collaboration with Northampton based Jax Marketing, FSG were recently awarded the contract for the design elements of a Northamptonshire Borough Council marketing campaign to increase use of key customer services.

The contract was awarded after a three way pitch presenting an outline of the campaign format and creative approach. The pitch was called in response to the indentified need to encourage the use of a range of services, in different locations across the county such as making payments for services and setting up Citizen's Account's online. The campaign required a bold call to action with the flexibility to accommodate a variety of messages across diverse audiences. Working together with Jax marketing on the campaign format, an approach was presented using the "That was easy" strapline to introduce the service. This was supported by a friendly encouraging icon used to strengthen the call to action.

The campaign is due to be launched in March and will be developed through a range of on and offline advertising, direct mail, poster advertising and PR initiatives.

fsg revitalizes fabulous flooring company in print and online.

Harvey Maria make fabulous floors and have recently involved FSG Design in the overhaul of their marketing materials, asking them to design a new brochure format for their domestic flooring that can then be translated into the redesign of their e-commerce website.

Harvey Maria market an enviable range of vinyl floor coverings to complement interior design styles ranging from the elegant and traditional to the contemporary and individual. Their floor designs are quite distinctive and their previous marketing has focused on this originality. The new brochure responds to the growing need for interior products to provide inspirational ideas for interior schemes. The product ranges have now been re-categorised to follow interior design styles and presented using a combination of lifestyle and product images. The use of imagery also serves to highlight the practical features of the flooring giving suggestions for usage in different areas of the home.

The new structure of the brochure will be reflected in the Harvey Maria website currently under construction by FSG. It will reinforce the inspirational and motivational theme introduced in the printed brochure and improve navigation to help customers choose more successfully and purchase more easily.

Distinctive branding gives touring exhibition new momentum.

After creating a successful new brand for Leicester Print Workshop's (LPW) touring exhibition Smallprint:Big Impression, FSG worked with LPW to introduce an exhibition guide that would help with the organisational aims of promoting printmaking to a wider audience.

In response to the brief, FSG proposed the idea of the Smallprint book, which could be sold alongside the exhibition. The book features a full colour reproduction of all the 150 prints included in the exhibition along with three illustrated essays introducing the work and looking at the subjects of traditional technologies and diversity in British printmaking.

The Smallprint exhibition features contemporary fine art printmaking from the UK and as far afield as the US and New Zealand, showcasing a range of techniques including etching, lithography and relief work as well as digital printing. All the works are in small scale with no image size larger than 100 square centimetres. The book uses a clean style to allow the vibrancy and diversity of these small scale works to lead the piece. The book was launched at the opening private view in March, will be sold through exhibition venues and can also be purchased via the LPW website.
